    netVigilance distributor Nord-soft demonstrated Securescout SP to the banking industry at 16th International Forum on Telecommunications, Information and Banking Technologies TIBO 2009 in Minsk. The demonstration showed the advantages of Vulnerability Assessment using SecureScout technology. Also large crowd of security professionals watched live hacking demo attack using Spear phishing, Buffer Overflow, and SQL-injection to bypass 2 firewalls and steal critical data from a demo corporate network. This helped a lot in understanding how security audit will significantly improve the corporate network security.

  • PCI SSC North America Community Meeting

    The PCI Security Standards Council's annual community meetings provided an exclusive opportunity for Qualified Security Assessors (QSAs), Approved Scanning Vendors (ASVs), PIN Entry Device (PED) laboratories and Payment Application QSAs (PA QSAs) to learn firsthand about the upcoming release of version 1.2 of the Data Security Standard, as well as gain insight into other Council programs and standards. Each session provided extensive opportunities for questions and answers with representatives from each of the payment brands.

    Topics at this year's meetings included:

    • A detailed review of version 1.2 of the PCI Data Security Standard;
    • Keynote presentations from industry experts on emerging threats to data security;
    • Presentations on the Council's standards for payment applications and PEDs, and;
    • Introduction of the Council's Quality Assurance program for QSAs.

    Jesper Jurcenoks presented the Breakout session 1469 - IT Vulnerability Assessment - An Introduction The target audience for this session was non-security professionals who need to know more about modern vulnerabilities, how to detect them and how to prevent them. Participants learned to identify the different kinds of Vulnerability Assessment, when to use Penetration Testing and when to use Vulnerability Assessment. Learned about Cross Site Scripting (XSS), SQL-Injection, and Buffer overflow first hand. This session included live demonstrations of Phishing Attack, Buffer Overflow, SQL-injection, and XSS and explained the best approach to vulnerability assessment and mitigation.
